Senator Biaggi’s Town Hall Brunch

Senator Biaggi’s Town Hall Brunch

The VCJC is having a Town Hall Brunch for our elected Officials on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 11AM at the Van Cortlandt Jewish Center, 3880 Sedgwick Ave, Bronx, NY. The brunch is free and open to the public. VCJC would like to welcome Alessandra Biaggi as our new State Senator. Biaggi is the Democratic New York State Senator in her home district (Bronx/Westchester), and Chair of the revived Ethics and Internal Governance Committee.

The granddaughter of Italian immigrants who lived in Hunts Point and born in Mount Vernon, Biaggi attended Pelham public schools and holds degrees from New York University and Fordham Law School. She is also a graduate of the Women’s Campaign School at Yale University. Senator Biaggi’s run for office was preceded by a decade of advocacy and service to the people of New York.

Also attending will be our Assemblyman Jeffery Dinowitz and Council Member Andrew Cohen. Per our President Bob Gillman, “Van Cortlandt Jewish Center is glad to welcome our new State Senator, Ms. Biaggi. We hope to work with her as we have in the past with Assemblyman Dinowitz, Council Member Cohen and Congressman Espaillot. We are lucky to have such dedicated elected officials representing us.”

The Town Hall will begin with brunch, followed by brief statements from our elected officials and then questions (provided by you) and answers from them. This is your opportunity to be seen and heard, and to express your thoughts and concerns.

While there is no charge for this event, reservations are required to ensure there is enough food. In addition, donations are greatly appreciated, and to help defray costs we will also hold a 50/50 Cash Raffle. Please fill out the form below, and return it to the VCJC office by Tuesday, September 10th. We look forward to your support at what we hope to be a well-attended event.
