A Series of Classes on Stress Management & Guided Meditative Relaxation

We will be hosting a series of four 1-hour classes teaching simple, effective techniques to reduce everyday stress and deepen one’s sense of peace, clarity, and well-being. The classes are appropriate for teens, adults, and anyone looking to manage daily stress, address insomnia, or explore deeper mind-body awareness. No previous experience needed.

The classes will include stretching exercises that will be best done on the floor with a yoga mat, but which can also be done in chairs. If you have a yoga mat, please bring it. If you have spare yoga mats, please bring those, as well, so that others may use them.

They will be taught by Prof. Barbara Kay, who draws on 36 years of experience teaching Human Potential across the U.S. and Canada. Her unique approach blends:

  • Guided Imagery
  • Gentle Yoga
  • Breathing Techniques
  • Silva Mind Control
  • Deep Relaxation
All are designed to support holistic well-being and personal growth.

Classes will be held at the Van Cortlandt Jewish Center, 3880 Sedgwick Ave, Bronx, NY and are scheduled for:

  • Sunday, June 29, 2025 at 10:30 AM
  • Sunday, July 6, 2025 at noon
  • Sunday, July 13, 2025 at noon
  • Sunday, July 20, 2025 at noon

There is a $10 fee per session. We ask that you pre-register, but you can pay at the door (cash or check). You can attend individual sessions, but you will get the most benefit from attending the full series.

Please register by calling the office at 718-884-6105 or emailing us. Space is limited, so please register ahead of time. You can prepay using the button below. Please indicate your name, which sessions you are attending, and whether you are bringing a mat, extra mats, or need a mat.
